Organic food farming

For the past week, Mark from Khom Loy Development Foundation and Boon from the Mekong Minority Foundation have been working together with the Room to Grow team on a project to increase food production at migrant schools.   The team is working on a few pilot projects now and over the next months with a view to make small scale agriculture more efficient so that more food can be produced by schools. If they succeed, the project will improve nutrition at the programs and decrease their food costs.

This week the team was busy surveying schools and getting their hands dirty assessing soil types. They also whipped up a few batches of organic fertilizer in preparation for trainings which will take place next month. The Burmese version of the instructional video on producing organic fertilizer is now online. Check it out!
